Los Angeles, California based multidisciplinary artist.
Born in 1995 in Seattle, Washington. Studied at California State University Monterey Bay and graduated in May of 2020 I received my BFA in Visual and Public Art. I am also a certified Permaculture Horticulturist. I earned my certificate at the Occidental School of Arts and Ecology. Sustainability and ecologically sound decisions influence my artistic decisions as an art director. In 2020 I presented Amalgamated America, a piece on memory and resonating messages through climate activism.
In 2007, I got my first film camera: a Holga 135 BC with a plastic lens, it made me learn how to see without the expectation of having something perfect, In essence; I have returned to this style of Lomography as a way to revive my nostalgia for the times before social media and when sharing was intentional and not a way to sell something, A return to my roots in this form of photography. I slowly merged with digital cameras having a few point and shoots and ultimately my trusty DSLR Nikon D5100.
My ongoing print series captures complex shapes and patterns at the creative intersection of simple programmable methodologies reflecting various settings of peace and tranquility. Suggesting a space to breathe I've developed graphics that evoke a space for meditative thinking. Approaching the theme of old branding meeting new ways of communicating. Like organisms reading QR codes or modern symbols representing old practices, or programming a robot to precisely draw repetitive motions I would otherwise be incapable of doing myself. This is meeting half way with the modern instruments of creation at my disposal.
